This one has been a long time coming… but we finally tricked out the My Niner! to make it load faster / look a little better.

Lately we’ve had some issues with some of our Gravatars being sporadically grey or blacked out. That’s not too cool =)

Fortunately, they seem to be working again. (may take a refresh or two on your browser if you have any images cached…)

Gravatar is a great service, but when it doesn’t work, it certainly reminds you why its generally a good idea to minimize external dependencies.

The beauty of Gravatars (globally recognized avatars), though, is that once you’ve got one setup, it works with any website that’s gravatar enabled… and franky, that’s pretty cool.

They just need an API, then the whole thing would be totally spiffy and all very “Web 2.0″-ish =)

We now have some forums powered by the excellent Vanilla forum software at: vanilla.ninerniner.com.

Google Groups served us well in the early days of Niner Niner, but we also wanted something that could be integrated a little bit more tightly on our servers.

We had a few issues with some of the weblogs (The Diet Logs, Thumb Gods, etc) the last week or so with posts not being credited.

This has been fixed & any posts made during that time have now been credited.

OnHealthyLiving.com is still offline for now, but should be back shortly!

We thought it was about that time for Niner Niner - the collaborative weblog network, to have an official weblog.
